This portrait of Jacob Milnor is based on several of his Instagram photos that were combined into a contemporary work based on concepts central to the "Anomaly" series.
Works in the series explore the polarities between the controlled and unpredictable. It focuses on the repurposing of intentionally corrupted imagery and questions what it means if we reclaim the "errors" in our technology and use them as tools in representing and defining ourselves.
Visually the work consists of a portrait within a deconstructed landscape that resembles the colours and hues of light at dawn. The "landscape" is constructed by a number of deconstructed "glitch" images. It reflects on our changing experience of the world where the tactile and physical is systematically being replaced by the digital and projected.
